Warwick Castle
Fantastic day out for adults and families. Warwick Castle is one of the best examples of a medieval castle set in acres of grounds. It is open for visitors throughout the year. In addition to visiting the castle and kerning about the history and architecture, you can also be entertained by the many attractions and activities in the grounds such as jousting and medieval fayres.
The Butterfly Farm
Only 2 minutes from the Hotel- the butterfly farm is a great attraction for adults and children alike. It is open all year round and is a great rainy day venue. In addition to its enormous range of butterflies, they also have an insect room, spider room and displays of fish and Iguana.
Shakespeare's Birthplace
The home of William Shakespeare, this is the ultimate Shakespearian venue to visit whilst in Stratford-upon-Avon. In addition to the original houses with their architecture and historical detail there is also an educational tour explaining the history of his life.
Royal Shakespeare Theatre
The famous RSC theatre is well known for offering some of the best and most critically acclaimed plays. Not only do they offer visitors the chance to see a play by William Shakespeare, but they also offer other productions throughout the year at both the Swan and the Other Place.

Bars and Lounges
The Manor Bar is located in the original building and is adorned with wood panelling. Its open fire creates a warm welcome in the winter months and in the spring and summer you can sit by the large leaded windows and overlook the garden.
The Manor Bar not only offers a full range of drinks including a great selection of beers and wines but also is a great location to meet friends and relatives. The extensive lounge menu has a range of sandwiches and light dishes, freshly brewed teas and coffee and cream teas.
The Terrace Bar
The Macdonald Alveston manor is one of the few hotels in Stratford-upon-Avon that has its own gardens. The Terrace is situated at the rear of the hotel and in the spring and summer months makes a delightful sun trap where you can sit in peace and tranquillity.
Restaurants
The Restaurant at the Macdonald Alveston Manor has long been recognised as one of Stratford-upon-Avon's premier venues. The team of chef's create a daily changing table d'hote menu with a choice of traditional dishes with a modern twist. They use only the freshest ingredients in season and are happy to cater for guests with special dietary needs. In addition there is also a full a la carte menu available with an extensive wine list as you would expect of a three star Hotel.
As many of the guests visit the Royal Shakespeare Theatre during their stay the Manor can cater for pre-theatre goers offering you a starter and main course prior to the performance and dessert and coffee on your return to the hotel.
The Manor Grill Restaurant is decorated in rich fabrics and colours with features such as leaded windows and beams which create a warm and intimate atmosphere.
The Restaurant is open for residents and non-residents for lunch and dinner and is proving very popular with the locals for its Sunday Lunch which is great value for money.
